The Vale Mill Trust

The 18th Century Water Mill has been restored and renovated by the Vale Mill Trust, founded in May 1992.

The Trust's members come from a wide variety of backgrounds and their consistent support is much appreciated. We have in the last six years developed Standing Orders and Gift Aid payments to increase our income.

The trustees meet once a month to receive progress reports, discuss future developments and direction of the project.

The project has received support from Gateshead Council, local businesses and various. The building received recognition from the Civic Trust.

Registered Charity Number: 1011002

The Workforce

Led by The Trust's co-ordinator and his assistant, arious volunteers have helped us to achieve our goals.

Many of our volunteers come from disabled backgrounds and are given opportunities to develop life skills and are given assistance in further training and employment. Some of our volunteers have been with us for a number of years.

We look forward to a future without the overhanging threat of where the next project can otain funding.

About the Mill:

PATH HEAD WATER MILL is an 18th Century Water Mill situated in Blaydon-on-Tyne and is being restored by Vale Mill Trust (Registered Charity No 1011002).

Our Family Membership Scheme allows members (together with up to 5 relatives) to visit the Mill FREE during their membership year. Please contact us for details.

PATH HEAD WATER MILL is an ideal location for an educational trip or nature expedition.

Many local schools have expressed an interest in bringing the children for visits to show them how a Water Mill works and also for nature trails. Many aspects of the National Curriculum can be experienced in a real-life situation.
We have on-site parking, a picnic area, disabled toilets and single level for pushchairs and wheelchairs. We also provide tea, coffee and juice at the Interpretation Centre which will also house some information about the history of the local area.

Although Vale Mill Trust's restoration of PATH HEAD WATER MILL has been partly funded by a number of organisations, as a charity we rely on continued support. Our annual membership fee is small and gives you (together with up to 5 relatives) free entry during each year of membership (including demonstrations of the workings of the mill) and access to all facilities on site.

Why not support the mill and join now as a Family Member
for a (minimum) £12.00 donation?

If you would like to join, please print and complete the membership form,
or pick up a copy from the mill.
